URBAN CANDY
Created with great attention to detail, this urban refuge skillfully combines practicality with aesthetics. Our priority here was to represent the calm yet energetic spirit of our young client, which we mainly achieved through the integration of natural materials (wood, ceramic, paper), colors (green), and arrangements (low furniture). Finally, the reflective ceiling resembles a sculpture, highlighting the impressive height of the residence while simultaneously giving artistic meaning to the preexisting volume that structurally protrudes due to a room on the upper floor.
The kitchen, being the owner’s favorite place to experiment with gastronomy and care for her loved ones, is located at the heart of the home. It is designed to exude an air of “discreet luxury,” a characteristic that is felt in its wooden cabinets, marble countertop, and overall open layout, through which the residents of the home can spend comfortable and companionable moments together. Finally, the large central table is connected to the kitchen island, extending the invitation for hearty meals, gatherings, and conversations.
This area serves as a reminder that the difference lies in the details. Our goal is to show that no space should go unused. Even in a small gap that emerged under the stairs, we added design value by creating a storage space that visually “fits” with the shape of the stairs.
Ascending to the upper floor, we created a transition area from the stairs to the other rooms. Although it is transitional, we still ensured to optimally utilize the space so that it has its own unique presence and value. Additionally, hidden in the wallpaper is a door that leads to a versatile room. This space can be used either as a TV room or more generally as a private lounge.
In the master bedroom, our focus is on the impressive bed. The bed was designed by us specifically for this space, inviting romantic and dynamic private moments. The overall monochromatic palette is intensified by the dark-colored wardrobes, whose reflective surfaces add further depth to the room. Additionally, the wallpaper features a dreamy, cloud-like pattern, once again alluding to a sense of romance.
As in the bedroom, the ensuite bathroom is filled with abundant morning light. The shower features an exterior balcony which we adorned with lush greenery, creating the sensation of an outdoor garden despite the height of the floor. Besides its aesthetic purpose, the greenery also serves as a screen, obstructing the view of the bathroom from neighboring houses.
