CHEF’S RETREAT

The couple for whom we designed this apartment has a life full of energy, stimuli, and changes of scenery. Therefore, our goal was to design somewhat of a sanctuary, within which the above activity would be balanced. The environment created is intimate, serene, without sharp contrasts or identifiable differentiations. Neutral tones and natural materials such as wood, marble, and brass take center stage.

The kitchen is spacious to accommodate the owners’ profession as chefs. It serves as a base for family or professional meals, as well as a backdrop for their company’s social media posts. As the dimensions of the kitchen are quite large compared to the rest of the house, we used many curves in its design. This way, its integration into the space becomes smoother and more skillful.

The neutral theme of the previous spaces continues into the bedroom, where natural colors and textures prevail, reflecting a summer feeling following the couple’s request. Access to the main bathroom is through a glass corridor, which doubles as a wardrobe. Behind the reflective surface, we have created ample storage space with shelves and cabinets.

In the bathroom, the shower and toilet area are separated using a blue textured glass, repeating the image of the similarly colored curtain in the bedroom. This separation ensures privacy and allows for more freedom of movement from the wardrobe to the sinks, while also enhancing the general aquatic design element. Another parallel with the bedroom is the pebble surface behind the mirrors, which is also found on the wall behind the bed, or the natural marble of the sink, from which the wardrobe is made.
